Continuing on toward Winslow AZ, we stopped at Oatman. This former mining town began as a tent camp and when two prospectors struck gold in 1915, Oatman's population grew.
Oatman today is tourist destination akin Route 66 where wild Burris roam freely begging for any chow they can find. There are sidewalk shoot outs, old relics in shops, dirt streets and plenty of donkey poop. Quite an intertaining "step back in time".
Driving along Route 66, there are many small tourist "traps" of historic value to visit. Road Kill Cafe in Seligman as well as the historic General Store.
We traveled from sun up to sunset traveling 10-13 hours daily to reach our destination.
