Amazing Airstream Adventure Day 2

On Day Two, we drove from Bakersfield to Winslow, AZ. Our goal was to witness and photograph as many of the relics on the Historic Route 66 as possible. After leaving Bakersfield, we began the day with a stop in Barstow. We photographed two amazing hotels from the iconic past: El Rancho Barstow as well as the Route 66 Motel.

Continuing on toward Winslow AZ, we stopped at Oatman. This former mining town began as a tent camp and when two prospectors struck gold in 1915, Oatman's population grew.

Oatman today is tourist destination akin Route 66 where wild Burris roam freely begging for any chow they can find. There are sidewalk shoot outs, old relics in shops, dirt streets and plenty of donkey poop. Quite an intertaining "step back in time".

Driving along Route 66, there are many small tourist "traps" of historic value to visit. Road Kill Cafe in Seligman as well as the historic General Store.

We traveled from sun up to sunset traveling 10-13 hours daily to reach our destination.
