Several years back, I purchased little Miss Polly Pod. Although small, Polly embraced the road and provided an oasis for the travels of two friends: friends like sisters, belonging to the group Sisters on the Fly, as they meandered from one point of interest to another.
My dream has always been to own an Airstream, but never thought I could afford one. After doing hours of what seemed like unless computer searching, I realized I could own an Airstream for a little more than what I could sell my Polly girl for. With that new found knowledge, the search was on.
Naming objects in my life is very common. Each vehicle is named. Annabelle was chosen as the name for my Airstream. The search revealed several Airstreams but one in particular catch my attention.
On April 11, 2013 I received an email that read:
Hello
You have expressed interest in "Annabelle the Airstream"
and she is finally completed! She sure took a lot longer to polish than
we anticipated. She is shined up and ready to hit the road. We will be
showing Annabelle this weekend, please contact Scotty for an appointment
at (925) 788-3833 or you can email me back and we will set up a time to
come check her out. We advertised her to you at $16,500 and we will
honor that list price for you for the next two weeks but we will be re
listing her for $18,500 due the expense of polishing her that took twice
as long as anticipated.
We hope to see you
soon! I have attached some new pictures of her exterior! To view
interior pictures please go to our website below.

The emails, text messages, phone conversations, visitations and communication with the sellers Scotty and Vanessa began. I read their story of the company website and I came to discover why Annabelle seemingly wasn't available for sale after I had inquired. Unbeknownst to me, Scotty was in the hospital basically fighting for his life. Within weeks of the doctor informing him that his cancer was in remission, the quest to find a new home for Annabelle resumed.
All that to say, happily I just adopted Miss Annabelle Airstream. She is a 1970 Airstream International Overlander 27' Twin. Her dimples and age spots show that she has had some interesting and possibly dangerous adventures in the past. Little does she know that the next chapter of her life will involve camping with a gal that grabs life by the horns and holds on for dear life.
Stay tuned in months and years to come as I try to chronicle the many and hopefully amazing adventures of Annabelle Airstream.
