SOTF Beach Trip to Pismo Beach, CA

The informal Sisters on the Fly beach trip to Pismo was a blast...
We had laughs, good food, visits from local sisters dropping in to share in the fun, great conversations around the campfire and beach drives on the actual beach.

Looking forward to next year for yet another Pismo adventure.

A walk to remember to the beach from campsite.
Riding bikes around the campground.

I am both blessed and thankful for my husband who spoils me rotten with Annabelle and the understanding that I want to go camping.

Thankful for all of the wonderful women I call friends. Thankful for a mighty God that has created the beautiful countryside I LOVE to explore.

Maiden Voyage of Annabelle

Let the "glamping" begin....
After a long awaited preparation period, Annabelle's maiden voyage is here, destination Pismo Beach, CA

Loaded with supplies to last for a month, we had a caravan of seven cars and trailers heading toward Oceano. Setting up for the week was a snap. I think I'm loving the Airstream experience!

Several sisters from Sisters on the Fly are camping as well. Different girls are coming and going throughout the week. No events are planned, just relaxing and enjoying being in our trailers.

My smile says it all.

Dinner out with the sisters.

Choosing Drapery Material

Designer Paula Cox stops by with many books of samples so I can find just the right fabric for the draperies in Annabelle. Paula has ordered some samples and will take measurements when I return in July from camping in Pismo, Santa Barbara and Petaluma.

Maiden Voyage to Pismo Beach

Thursday, June 20th Annabelle will set out for her maiden voyage to Pismo Beach, California then onto Santa Barbara.

Most of the "meat and potatoes" work has been completed but smaller improvements still need to be addressed. She still needs a bit more polishing on the outside, emblems repainted, belt lining replaced, and a few more "glamping" ideas to complete inside. (More curtains and possibly Modge Podge newsprint on the end caps of the trailer.

Toscano's RV in Paso Robles had her in the shop for 9 weeks. Quite frankly they should have completed the job in about 3 weeks. I wasn't happy with items I asked them to address that they ignored. I paid enough $ to have it all completed and then some. I may find another Airstream dealership to complete work in the future.

Here are some photos if the inside of Annabelle. Please note the front draperies in the living room and kitchen area will be changed soon. I think I will be going with blue accents which should tie in the vintage awning to the inside. More updated photos and adventures to come. Stay Tuned...

Broken entry/exit door

Well the pick up day has been pushed back again. The guys at Toscano discovered the door on the trailer was broken. I will be picking her up this  Friday morning.

If It's Not One Thing....

Well tomorrow is the day I'm suppose to pick up Annabelle from Toscano's RV. Today they pulled off the skin to change out the door to the shiny aluminum when they discovered that the door needs either fixed or possibly a new door. As you can imagine, it's not easy to find a salvage trailer where someone wants to part with the door of the trailer, so I wait.... And wait...

Here's how she looks so far:

Someday I will take her camping....
