The Mt. Lassen Experience

We arrived to the KOA after the crazy GPS lady directed us to take a "cow road" that cut across from I-5 to Highway 44. This KOA is very nice and quiet. The staff has planned activities from Friday Night Movies, an ice-cream social and a pancake breakfast for Sunday morning.

Saturday morning after sleeping in and having our coffee, it was time to explore the area. We pulled out of the KOA heading to Mt. Lassen and to Burney Falls.  We had only traveled about five miles when Bambi decided to fight with Beast. Well Beast won and Bambi is no longer thinking about green meadows.

After we recovered from the shock of the reality that Beast has to go to the body shop again, we proceeded to view a small about of Mt. Lassen. We were able to drive about 10 miles into the park before barricades were blocking the road.

From Mt. Lassen, we proceeded to Burney Falls.  We hiked down to the base of the falls where we felt the spray of the water forcefully coming down from the falls. After we left the falls, heading back to the campgrounds, we found a Muffler Man. There aren't very many of these guys left, so I had to photograph him. I hope you enjoy the photos and share in The Adventures of Polly Pod and Beast.

Polly is HOME!

Polly is Finally Out!

After sitting for one month at Pan Pacific RV, Polly is home and ready for her Summer 2011 season.
Polly went into the Pan Pacific garage to re-chalk the back window, and to replace the a/c unit under warranty. (it quite working after 1 year)  While she was parked and ready to come home, a farmer was mowing the field next to the "holding pen". A rock flew out from the mower and broke one of Polly's windows. Pan Pacific ordered a new window and it took Forest River literally 1 month to get a new one to Pan Pacific. I had to cancel several camping trips.

She is home and we will be pulling her to Mt. Lassen next weekend. Stay tuned for more adventures!
